Plain Sofa

Simple, clear, almost ordinary. And, surprisingly, it’s hard to improve upon.

Plain was born out of a desire to create a comfortable sofa for different people. It was designed to reveal its true character as it is used.

Everyone sits differently. We are all different heights, have different body types, and our own way of sitting.

Plain adapts to these differences. That is why the cushions are loose: they adjust the depth and fine-tune the support. There is an intuitive relationship between the body and the object.

The ordinary can be surprising when it is very well made. And it can be incredibly powerful when it feels familiar and essential.

Natural materials — solid wood, linen or cotton — are the most pleasing to the eye and to the touch. Inside, the solid frame and the fillings are not visible, but they can be felt and are durable.
